so is safe to assume that trupan marks it's edges to identify their product? or has anyone bought trupan that did not have marked edges. lastly is it white or not?

As its made from radia pine, I say its white or off white if you want to get techo.
You be the judge of what color you call it......
Gary is right is usually has "Trupan made in Chile" written on the edge

Trupan is not the only brand that works well for a bleeder board. In my search for Trupan I found Tafisa from Russell plywood in Delaware. It works excellent and as Brady said a few days ago in another post just like Trupan you do not need to surface both sides for maximum air flow. The air flow is the same with or without surfacing.

Here is a link to a company in Canada with 7 locations that distributes it http://www.commonwealthplywood.com/en/distribution/index.shtml

It also says on their web site you can get Tafisa as a core with any color of Formica on it.

Wellllll, I find that I get better part holding when I surface both sides of my Trupan before use. I still get decent holding if I don't but not as good. I am using a higher flow setup than Fein vacs and that may make a difference. The guys I know who use it with really big pumps, like 40 hp vane pumps, swear they see a very big difference with surfacing both sides.

Brady, what size is your Trupan UL? Mine is 49 x 96 3/8" which caught me off guard when I started working. Every sheet is that size.

My Trupan also has the markings on the edge. I've seen Trupan ST as well... I assume that's standard or something but not Ultralight.

There is Trupan, Trupan light and Trupan ultra light. The light has worked the best for me for hold down, the ultra light is a little too porous for my setup. YMMV!

It's 48.5 X 96.125", but the 50mm ultralight I use is exactly 48 X 96"...didn't know they had 2" Trupan for $96 a sheet did ya?

Atlantic Plywood in NJ. It's been about a year since I bought any...I filled up the bed of the truck over the rails with 3/4 & 2"...Not sure if they still have it or not, but for $100 a sheet, what else can you buy?
