Can anyone give me some guidance on how to cut this. I currently have partworks.Rough dimension is 4.5 chord(wide) x 87" long
Thanks,

Not exactly sure what you are looking for but here is a dxf for the NACA 0018 airfoil 87" cord and 4.5" max thickness.

Sam- where do you get the dxf for airfoils? Is that a program you run, or did you just happen to have that one?

I like to build and fly Radio Controlled airplanes as a hobby. I have several airfoil programs that let me generate the airfoils.

Sam,
Thank you. I seem to be unable to save as a.dxf. It defaults to a .unk file. Any hints? What are the names of the foil programs? Are they open source.

Todd,
After saving it as a .unk file, change the extension to .dxf and you should be able to open it. I was able to import it into VCarvePro

Tim,
I tried that. After changing the extension to .dxf It does not show up in the import dialog box.

Todd,
Are you using Partworks or VCarve Pro? If yes, select File, Import and look in the directory where you saved the file. I just tried it again and it works fine. Make sure you're not using Import Bitmap.
I was also able to open the .dxf file in TurboCad V9.
Hope this helps

I just re-read your email and see you are using PartWorks. I am sending you an email with it in .crv format.
I made a Grasshopper routine in Rhino3d that creates NACA 00xx series foil profiles using the NACA formula. In Grasshopper, you use sliders to control the chord length, number of points, and NACA number. Then pick the modules and 'bake selected' to get the geometry into Rhino (bake the points, interpolated line, or both).
maybe it can help someone here. You can download it here: http://www.mimsarchitect.com/gh/
You'll need Rhino3d, of course, as well as Grasshopper, which is downloadable from the Rhino website.
