Delta VFD & Columo Spindle

Will the Delta VFD and Columbo Spindle run Counter Click wise? I have a chance an exceptional deal to pick up various sizes of tooling by they are left hand, up cut spirals.
Just checking to see if the VFD and spindle will run Counter clockwise.

I am not an expert on Shopbot but if the motor is 3 phase swapping any 2 legs will reverse the direction of the motor.

I found out the hard way that many VFD have a button on the front that will reverse the spindle direction.
It is called 'Reverse'.

The Delta VFD will run a Colombo in reverse. One of the VFD parameters can disable the reverse ability. I set mine up this way the keep me from accidently reversing it from the from the front panel as Roger did. Michael is also right in that reversing any two of the three legs will reverse the motor rotation. Use caution with the VFD wiring because the internal capacitors can hold a charge for a while.

Hi Don,
It is not enabled to run backwards when shipped because of the danger of loosening the Nut that holds the collet and throwing the nut and the collet across the room at 24,000 RPM. You would need a different type of spindle the run Backwards.

Scott, I had thought about that last evening while pondering the purchase of the tooling.
And I do appreciate all the input Michael, Roger and Stan.
May I'd be farther ahead at purchasing the tooling and selling them back to a carbide reclaimer. And then upgrade the Bot.. Sounds like a plan.
