Here is a carving cut from a file from James B. Website Carve3d. It's 40"X27"X2" and made from African (Genuine) Mahogany.

Thanks. It's hanging inside the house. I used a 1/2" 2 flute endmill for rough pass and a 1/4" ballmill for finish pass. It took almost 8 hours.

John,
That's nice, I've been wanting to do something like that for our home. Nice job.

That looks so nice! How is the 3D model and tool path created from the image? Is that the ArtCAM stuff at work?

Yes, but I wonder how the VectorArt3D people create these files. I wondered if you could generate such files yourself given a package like ArtCam or something. Maybe they have a proprietary process. Sure is cool stuff!

Jim,
James Booth at Vectorart3d uses Artcam to create most of the models on the site. James worked for Artcam before setting out on his own. Dasch and others also contribute to the site and work in other packages. Do a little digging on the forums and you can find some info on it.
