I am trying to copy a five sided figure in a plans book. I can easily draw that with my PartWorks program. The problem is that after drawing the pentagon, I need to bisect each line with a guide line that is perpendicular to the side and make a cut-out figure to accept another piece of wood with a corresponding tongue to fit the cut-out. Kind of like a dove-tail. Is there another way to draw guide lines that are not purely vertical and horizontal? Thanks for any help in this matter, joe.

It may be easier to draw a vertical or horizontal line, then rotate the pentagon 72 degrees. I was trying to do some work on a clock and found it was easier to place number, rotate 360/12 degrees, repeat 12 times. The same type of approach might work here as well. You may also be able to get away with replicating your line each time just before you rotate so the copy will be in place after the rotation, if I understand the issue correctly. Just a thought.

I am trying something like that with the move button, but everything gets out of alignment. Can I rotate a figure ann exact amount and make it keep the same center point? And, if so, how do I do it? Remeber, talk to me like I am 4 years old. thanks, joe

John thanks to your suggestion, I found that if I have my pentagon with it's form based on the center, then the drawing itself gives you a vertical and horizontal guide line. Then I can use my horizontal and vertical guide lines that I drag down to draw my pocket on the base side and then rotate it in 72 deg steps and repeat the pocket 5 times and it will make a perfect shape. Thanks again for your response. joe
