I really don't want to spend $50.00 or more for a sanding mop but realize anything that keeps my joints from having to do it is worth it so i need advice on the various brands.

I have been toying with the idea of creating some sanding toolpaths (mainly for indexer projects) to go up and down one side, turn it (X) degrees, repeat, spin while till it moves in X, ect but i need the sanding mop first. Plus I find it should be easier than taking a knife and scratching out woodfibers and small chips left in crevices of my spirals and carvings.

Jack,
Just went to a Woodworkers Expo here in Denver yesterday and saw one of these mops in action for the first time. Someone mentioned using one to cleanup their 3D carvings on this forum a couple months ago and I tried to find one on the net, no luck. Any way I now have a source for them, try www.stockroomsupply.com (http://www.stockroomsupply.com) . They are located in Wainfleet, ON Canada, 1-877-287-5017. I haven't yet checked out their website but do have one of their catalogs and they have three different kits and they come in five different grits 80 to 320. Hope this helps.

Thanks Michael and Tim, I went back and reread the thread of your real nice carvings from last year. I have started using a gel stain and love the effect you get.
