Vacuum manifold

I am building a vacuum manifold with four zones. Each zone has a separate ball valve, and I am installing a bypass. The manifold is at one end of the table. Can I attach to the pump from either end of the manifold or do I need to connect to the center? Does it matter?

It is best to feed it from the center so that each zone gets it's fair share of the airflow.

Honestly, once it reaches vacuum, the air shouldn't be traveling that fast (as long as there aren't massive leaks in the spoiler board, but then I guess it wouldn't reach vacuum
) Imagine a sprinkler system (disclaimer: with a proper amount of heads, so pressure doesn't drop too much), in my yard the sprinkler farthest from the valve sprays just as high as the one right next to the valve.

Theoretically it is better to have equal length paths to each zone, but I don't think I would make it an absolute priority.
