I recently discovered how to post pretty large clear pictures to the forum, pretty much regardless of the original size of the file. Check these out:

1) Using Microsoft Outlook as my Email program, I sent myself an email with the photos inserted as files.

2) Outlook will display a window titled "Attachment Options". There is a section near the bottom titled "Picture Options". Select Medium @ 640x480 or Small @ 448x336.

3) When you receive your email, Select "File>Save Attachments" enter the appropriate path and save the attachments which are now very small in file size.

4) Most of the time you will be able to upload these photos with little difficulty. The attached photos were originally over 1 meg.

I'm sure there are other ways to do the same thing, this is the one I use. Hope it helps you when trying to stay within the 50k forum limit when posting legible photos.

For those of you who do not use Outlook, like me, you can download a "power toy" from microsoft that will resize your pictures. Just select the ones you want to resize and right mouse click. Then select the size you want them saved as.

In windows Vista, search for Snipping Tool and add pin it to your start menu. Use it for screen shots. Has highligting and pencil tool etc...

For a resizing tool I use VSO Image Resizer. Works great, adds an option to the drop down menu when you right click and resize. You can control resolution and quality to get the sizes you need.
