I know its been asked a hundred times, but what the hell! Ted is paying for the bandwidth. Question: is it the accuracy or the power that is better in an Alpha v's a standard? Would a standard BT carve 3D as well as an Alpha?

Neville,
Although we have an Prt Alpha 48 and 3D is most of what we do, we rarely carve over 3.5 for speed so I'm assuming that the standard does that speed easily. Most of our carvings are 1" or more deep now and the bot seems to move smoothly at that rate. From most of the posts I've read here, they use fast speeds for production cutting. 3D is anything but fast, but it sure is fun. And so far have not noticed any problems with accuracy (as long as the file is done right).
later,
Shari
