I keep getting slop in my X travel the stepper motors keep getting out of adjustment and screwing up my cuts. Today I added lock washers to the motor brackets and blue locktight on the threads.

I am going to have to start checking for play in my X travel every time before I run the machine. This is the 3rd time I have had to re-adjust the x travel on those stepper motors and I don't have that many hours on the machine. Is this common? I am wondering if cutting the UHMW I cut is causing this it is tough stuff.

Mike,

I purchased my machine barely used and only 3 months after running it did I discover that the pinion gears where not lined up properly. I had about 3/32" of the pinion not making contact with the rail. I fixed that used some loc-tite and cranked down on those allen's until it bent. Now there's no slop..
