Coat rack I made for my Mom's restaurant up on Lake Vermillion. The customers seem to like it.

Rails are 60" x 4". Letters are 12" in height, 1/2" thick max, evenly spaced 12" apart, with 6" margin on left and right sides. Antiqued brass coat hooks placed 12" apart.

The wood is birch. Rails are clear with no heartwood. Letters have a lot of heartwood for character/contrast, cut from 12"x12" finger jointed glued up blanks. Finger joints make for some interesting wavy joint patterns in the final cut letter relief. Cut with 1/2" ballnose. Hours and hours of hand sanding to remove machining marks. ;) Lightly stained for extra contrast. Everything is satin polyurethane coated.

Nice gun rack dude! You might want to pad those hooks so they won't scratch the stock, otherwise it's perfect. Kip
