Vetric blocks

I I am trying to carve out the vetric birth sign but it doesn't really have alot of depth detail to it. How can I bring out more detail of the block outline and the interior contents

here is what i did. I used a gel stain then clear gloss polyurethane. I probably should have used more on the blocks and letters with a small brush along the sides of the letters to mimic a shadow thereby accenting it.
