I saw something on a show where they took a plain pine table and coated it with "Briwax" which looked like a wax with a stain in it. The finish was nice. Anybody ever use this?

Yes-Nice finish-I use it on a couple of pieces of "real" furniture I built-Just remember it's not polyurethane and is subject to damage from wet glasses etc. Rockler carrys it.

I used Briwax on pickled oak cabinet doors that were smoke damaged.
Took some elbow grease but this made them look new.
I got it at woodcraft.

I had to make a an "antique"table a few years ago and an antique dealer gave me a can to try.It works very well for this type of application.
Briwax comes in a verity of colors.I find it works best if you seal the wood with shellac.

I use Briwax regularly to add depth to 3D carvings.
