I know others have had similar problems but this has me puzzled. I don't know if it has anything to do with my recent indexer activity or not.
I have been doing lots of spirals lately which makes me set my Z axis below the normal table height. My thought is that the machine doesn't know where the table height or any height is until i Z.
So when i went to cut a simple donut shape on the table from .75 thick cherry I X,Y to corner of material on table and set my Z with my Zzero plate and start the file.
The Z raises up to 4+ inches above material then goes all the way thru the cherry, all the way thru the mdf jig before i can stop it.
My safe Z height was set at .25 (not 25) and it happened again and i put the bit as high into the collet and lowered the safe Z with same results.
Why is the safe Z going so high? What else can i do to control the Z height?
