I searched about this but found rather dated info & I wondered if anyone was doing topo maps. If you wouldn.t mind elaborating the process for me ( us ) TIA Neville

Thanks John, that is it but a little over my head unfortunately. I havent had much machine/ software experience yet, so as Brady told me I should crawl before I run. For anyone that can do it, I was told by an architect that they are a sought after commodity(carved topo maps) by architects/designers for development so perhaps thats something you guys should pursue.

The process looks complicated but its really simple. You start out with a gis file, jump through a couple of hoops to make it into a grayscale, and then machine it.
Greg was taking the file, then converting it into a 3d model, then machining. its a little more complicated, but the product is nicer. When you get more machine time in, it will all make sense.
later,
John
