I'm working on some windsor comb back chairs. This requires bent crest rail at the top of the chair with volutes carved on the ends.
What I'd like to do is have Bot carve the rail shape and the volutes. Then I would stean bend the rail, clamp it in a bending jig and hope for the best.
Perhaps I could cut and carve a rail by hand, probe it and go from there.
Has anyone out there had any experience with this sort of thing?
