View Full Version : When shutting it off
I shut off my bot yesterday by turning the switch on the control box (Alpha) and noticed when I did, I heard the usual click then saw that my X axis kind of jumped forward. Anyone getting that?
Don't know if it's a big deal

Erik,
This happens to mine all the time. My case is due to the X-car being out of square. I'm not sure if yours is out or not but if you are pulling your X-car against squared stop blocks when turning on the control box this will happen when the power is removed.
When you pull the X-car against the stop blocks and the closer motor comes to rest you will feel tension as you pull the second motor against the other block. If at this time before turning on the contoler power you where to let go the car would jump away from the blocks kinda like a slingshot. Well when turning off the power the same thing happens as the tension is released.
Frank,
Got you. This didn't happen until just recently I kept getting A Driver "Default" and i Kept having to reset the control box. I kept my box open one time so I could see which driver was crashing and it ended up being one of my X drivers. So upon inspection I noticed that the tighten screws on my motor pinion gear were loose and the the gear was twisting away on the motor shaft causing uneven movement and triggering a driver motor to crash occasionally. So now that it's tightened, it makes sense that it's now probably out of square now.
Thanks again!
