Folks:
For quite a while now I've been using the Bosch 1617 router, it has served me well for most of my work, but from time to time I've pushed it too hard and have wished for a more powerful unit.
Well, I finally decided to purchase one of the 3-1/2 hp Milwaukee routers that has been touted on the forum...the reason for this post is simply to let folks of what I believe is quite a deal: on Amazon.com I just placed an order for only $268 with free shipping.

I just scored a new one on ebay for $235 shipped. I bought a mount for it a couple weeks ago for $80 on ebay as well. My new Bot should be here in a couple weeks.

I use the Milwaukee 3 1/2 in my cabinet router table, and it can take quite a bite before it starts to bog down. Got the PC router in my bot, but think that cheaper Milwaukee would also do fine. Not sure about bearings holding up as well or as long though in a bot... not enough experience to answer that yet.

You just had to rain on my parade, huh?
good find for you
Ed -I bought the same router about 2 years ago and I like it mucho. I had a problem a while back with it, couldn't get it to cinch a bit. I sent it back to Milwaukee and they repaired it with no sales receipt for free. They said the collet shank was loose.
I think I paid $299.00

Ed,
I was disapointed because I had been semi promissed one from a member of another forum for $180. He runs a tool business and somehow he is able to get them a few at a time for some kind of promotion. He got 10 and they all went fast and I did not get one of those he told me he would put me on a list for the next batch but they never came and time was getting close so when I saw this one listed on ebay and starting @ $150 I decided to bid so I did not end up with the Bot and no router. I just got lucky no one ran it up real high my max bid was $250 and I got it for $222 + shipping. I was all set to order one like you did in a few more days.
