View Full Version : What I cut yesterday
What is your Shopbot doing for you?
I usually post more often but I have been busy at the shop. Since I last posted cabinet pics I have made 12 custom cabinets. We cut and put this together yesterday.
I am slowly refining my method of designing in KCDw then importing into Cabinet parts pro, then making my custom parts, but This cabnet still needs another day to add lights, finish the ends, router add doors etc.
But in one day I took the design,to cut to assembly (I still have 1.5 days to detail this out) but you can see how easily how your shopbot can make life sooo easy for you.

I'd like to see some pics when you get it painted. Make sure you put something in show and tell.

Danny,
The importing from KCDw to CPP, is that something you are writing or will it do it stock? I have KCDw and a trial version of CPP, but didn't know it would do that. I can now go from KCDw to Cutlist Plus, but it just converts the cutlist to DXF. It doesn't do anything fancy, no pocket holes, dados, shelf pin holes... I have not even cut a sheet with it yet, still just trying to figure out what direction I want to go in. Still looking for a package that will do what I want for a price I can afford.

The Kcdw I have is designer, it does nothing but design. doesnt make a cut list or anything.
Its just for customer eye candy.
I just make the main boxes in cabinet parts pro then just hand draw misc parts in parts wizard.
I was having a hard time adjusting but its becoming second nature.
How much does kcdw cost with cutlist option?

Hey Danny,
Here is my attempt at making a bookshelf.
It was made in June 2002, P.B. (Pre Bot). I made some spiral half columns on the side with the Sears Router Crafter. They turned out ok, nothing to brag about. Then i moved up to the Legacy mill, then to the shopbot....whats next?

I barely have room for the one i have in that same shop in the pic. I guess i'd just have to build a bigger shop then huh?
I need very little "justification" to spend money on tools...don't tempt me!
