This is a sign I made last fall for a local furniture store. It is double sided and measures approximately 28" x 44". The sigh is made from cherry with a walnut frame. The inlay was completed separately on a hard maple base, then inlayed into the finished sign. The logo was designed by someone else and I was supplied an .eps file which I used with Vetric's VCarvePRO for all the inlay and text work.

Very nice job. Did you do the inlay work also?

Yes, I did the logo by inlaying the different types of wood into a maple base. I had to modify the logo a little, but did it with the owner's permission. The logo is about 8x12 inches in size. After pocket cutting the maple base for the inlays, I did a inside profile cut with a 1/32" end mill which helped get a good fit into the corners. It took minimal sanding to fit the inlay pieces. I needed 2 inlays because the sign is double sided, but made 3 total as a "just in case". All 3 ended up coming out good, so I have the 3rd as a sample.
If anyone is interested in more detail, I actually posted this on Vectric's forum last fall and you will find more info, especially on completing the inlay.
