I had someone ask me about making them wooden guitar picks. Has anyone made these without a lot of hand work. Cutting the shape would not be too bad, but the smooth or feathered edge seems like a lot of hand sanding. Just seeing if anyone has any ideas?

seems like a band saw job... What a headache. I think that would tough...

OK, WAY out in left field. What if you use the indexer to cut the long shape for the picks and the band saw to cut the 'chips'. Then you put all the chips in a paint shaker/stone polisher with some fine ceramic abrasive...

Back to reality now, sorry. ~Joe

Laser cut and then hand sanded.

I can't imagine what they (wooden picks) would sound like. I use a light nylon pick most of the time because I like the flexibility. Seems like wood would not give a crisp sound and wear down fast.
