This is one of my first things I made with the Shopbot. It's for a friend of mine with the last name Beverage...

These two were Christmas gifts for a client's children...

Scissors for grand opening ceremonies...

Carved and raised dimensional sign. "606" lettering is smaltzed for cool glitter effect in sunlight...

Client logo cut out of 1.5" Signfoam with colored parts v-carved. The letter "A" is over 5 feet tall!!!

My wife was just asking for a pair of scissors like that, I told her it was not feasable, machine time alone would be 70 or 80 hours and you must make them out of special wood that only grows on small tropical islands at a rate of 1" per decade. Not to mention the special tooling required.

Then you go and post a photo :-) now look what you done.

Thanks for the positive response everybody!

Robert, tell your wife it required special tooling that could cut special shapes, and I purchased the last available on the market. You could borrow the bits needed, but I would have to charge a $5,000 rental fee to cover wear and tear. LOL

Tim, we used oak for the main parts, and the handles were created by a woodworker friend of laminated pieces. The reason for this is that by cutting the whole thing out of one piece, the handles were weak and liable to break, as the ones we used for a template had done. We also considered alder for it's stability.
