I assume the name and design were vcarved into the wood? How did you get the paint in the details without bleeding over? Very nice!

Material is maple plywood on MDF core.
I spray painted a base coat of clear lacquer on the board to be carved, carved it, dust blown off of it.
I then dumped some acrylic brown paint over the carving, working it with a brush inside the details. With a damp cloth I wiped some of the paint off. After it dried for a few minutes I block sanded the board removing all the paint on the flat surface, finally the whole frame was coated with more lacquer. It went pretty fast.

on your carving of the picture is that flat on the surface or dished? Did you sand over that?
How did you pocket out the back to insert the photograph?
It turned out great, she's a cutie, did she say "thank you uncle Jose"?

It turned out great!

I sometimes use paste wax on wood items before I laser designs to get a similar effect for staining.
