A while ago (possibly a year or better) someone posted a a/v podium that they had done for a church. It was very well designed and had numerous mechanisms to it. I believe that when you pulled out the keyboard, the monitor flipped up etc. Did anyone bookmark it?

I am in charge of designing an A/V podium for the back of my wife's church and want to get as much inspiration as possible.

Hello there Ryan, completely missed this thread.

If you want, I could dig through my hard drive to get some images of the construction for you. I'm not 100% sure, but I think we documented the lever system.

I should add that some time later we did a similar project but for that one we discarded the manual approach and instead installed an electrical actuator (an AUDI car window drive system).

That was kind of cool, since you opened up the lid, then just pushed a button and the screen folded up and the keyboard tray came sliding out "on its own" in one motion. We thought about making it completely 'automatic' in the sense that the drive unit would engage as you inserted and turned the key to unlock the cabinet, but we ran out of time.

Total hardware cost was ~$500, but you could do it for much less by picking up a drive unit from a car scrapyard.

Found a couple of pics of the 'under the hood view' of the electrical drive. You can't see much detail, but it gives an idea of how simple the setup is.
