HSD spindle

Newbie question. Will spindle work the same if it is not run the a computer first? My control box is not setup for a spindle and was wondering if it can be run from the vfd box manually? Thanks

Check your manual, but you should be able to wire the spindle so that its "RUN/STOP" buttons (or similar) control the spindle. Be careful. On my Alpha, the controller card not only controls the spindle, but also acts as a safety device to keep me out of trouble.

Yes, you can run your spindle from the VFD without a connection to a computer. I have a HSD spindle with a PRT bot. The spindle is not controlled by the computer.
