Well, I've been lurking long enough, time to throw something out there. Here is something I'm finishing for a Christmas present. This is my first attempt at releif machining and I thought I would submit it for scrutinizing.

Beautiful job, Frank! Thanks for posting.

What software did you use to create the 3D and machine it?

Very stylish! That will make a nice gift. What's the plans for paint/finish?

Brady and Scott, Thanks you for the positive feedback.

Brady - I had to depart from by beloved Vectric software and use Artcam 9 for both designing and machining the releif. Started with a photograph and traced it to vector using corel draw and the rest was done in Artcam.

Scott - The only part I am planning on painting is the numbers. I think I will just clearcoat the rest because I like the way the cedar looks naturally.

Thanks again for the comments guys! Merry Christmas all.

Very nice. How long did it take you to machine this? What are the deminsions?

Thank you everyone! The Dimensions are 10" wide by 15" tall. It took 3 hours to machine using a 1/8" ball nose bit. I originally programmed it to raster in X and Y at 45 degrees but after it finished one pass I thought it was good enough and left it.

I just have to say, that is totally cool, and really gets my creative thoughts going, part of the reason I decided to get a shopbot is to create "stuff" that you dont see every day, everytime I see something, I wonder, how big, how long to do, the process, and the software, thanks for sharing
