Steve,
Have you looked at Quickbooks, I find it works very well for me and has for years.

I use Quickbooks. It gives the profesional look for your corprate clients. You can import your logo for your documents also.

I was using Simple accounting and I hate it.
I now have switched to Quickbook and so far so much better!
But for estimate/quote, order and invoice calculation and rendering, I prefer spread sheet with Open Office. Spread sheet offer me the most flexibility. Depending on what you do in your business, accounting package, estimate/order/invoice system maybe well enough for you.
I know that Quickbook offer more products in USA than here in Canada; Customer Manager, Easy estimate, Point of sale... Very affordable.
Spread sheet like the one I have need to be built up. I'm thinking about sharing the one I have but it need to be translate first... it work in relation with my email client address book, material and projects spread sheets so it really is quick to create estimate with the maximum flexibility and a nice final professional look. Converting estimate to order and invoice is only a matter of seconds if no change need to be done on the numbers.

I do all kinds of useful things with Quickbooks. I even have production spreadsheets that plug into the QBs database using third party software and Excel.

Hey guys,
There's an empty page for Quickbooks in the software section of the "Business and Marketing" part of the wiki, just waiting for content. Feel free to fill it up!

Quickbooks here also. I have mine set up so that I can access the accounts from the shop (installed on two computers and access the accounts by wireless network) when I want to start or add to an invoice.
Maybe I'll have to take some time to add something to the wiki, although my wife has set up most of it.

I also have used Quickbooks for the past 12 years. I have 2 licensed copies that way both can have the data file opened at the same time.
Quickbooks all the way.....

I used Small Business Accounting - but when I had to buy a new computer it had Vista and it wouldn't run SBA. (Microsoft not supporting their own software issue!) I got Quickbooks-Manufacturing and really like it. I use the quote section in QB and like it.
