Ok, my PRSAlpha w/ accessories should ship next week.
I'm ok with the software side, but it would be great if all you terrific minds could chime in if I'm missing any minor accessories that I really should get but would be a pain to have shipped all the way to Sweden as an ex post facto order.
My current order is as follows:
-----
1 PRSalpha 120-60-14
1 Ctrl Bx 1 Spdle 1 Rter Int'l
230v 1 hase, 380v 3 Phase
1 Add Dual Z - Alpha
****Voltage 50hz 400 v 3phas
1 HSD Spindle 4HP 380/460V 3PH
FLA 19.6, db 76
1 Router Bit Starter Kit
1 PVC Hook-Up Kit 3"
for Vacuum System
1 Digitizing Probe - 3D
Stylus: 2mm, 1/8", 1/4"
1 Remote Stop Button (addt'l)
------
I will supply my own router for the additional z and my own vacuum blower.
I want to get this right. If there's something I'm plain missing and/or wearables that will need to be changed in a >1 year period, please provide input.
Thanks in advance.

Due to shipping issues, I would order an extra set of pinions, they are good to keep on hand and replaced from stock then you won't have to make do with a worn gear or be down while waiting.
Do you have an extra dust foot for the second Z axis?

a extra set of prox switches would be nice saves some accidents.

Make sure the operating voltages and frequency are correct for your shop. It looks like you have specified 3 phase equipment. You might want to be sure 3 phase power is available at your shop.

Shawn,
AFAICT, they are included with the tool.
Robert,
Yes, I've been thinking about ordering extra pinions since that's been mentioned in many posts on this forum. If you should happen to know, what are they going for?
Good catch on the dustfoot for the added z. I'll ask SBT Inc if that's included.
Steve,
Do you mean an extra set of prox switches to swap in, in case the originals get damaged, or operating with two sets of prox switches? This is one area of installing and operation that I have yet to grasp.
Bill T,
I have 3-phase in the shop so that's not a problem, there's also some lines set up that are currently not used, I think they're dimensioned right so it should just be a question of having an electrician make the connection at the machine.

no I was saying a extra set on the oppisite corners of the table. that way if you goof they stop the movement and not the blocks. a bit easier on the machine.that way you have protection any way you move.

Oh. I thought the included prox switches would cover the x axis on the table (i.e as a pair one would be at the extreme end of the x- (or x0) and the other at the extreme of the x+).
If that's not the case, I'd definetly want a second set.

they only cover the home posistion. so they cover 0,0 but they don't cover 96,48

On the PRS, the prox switches are mounted on the gantry (isn't this the same for the PRT?) and there are target bolts at the ends of each axis. no need to order extra switches unless you wanted to put one on the Z...

on both ends of each one? if so then no need. the prt only comes with one on the home of x and y

There is only one set of prox switches, you place the bolts on each end to stop the gantry. This means on the home end of the machine the bolt is a few inches from the end of the rail and on the 96 end the bolt is almost the width of the gantry from the end. This allows the one sensor to protect both ends of the X direction. Same situation on the Y direction. I wouldn't think you'd need an extra set and unless you whack one of them I don't think they are prone to breaking.

I was thinking that the bolts would not be in the right place on the otehr ends since the sensors are on the home ends. but duhh I just place the bolts fartehr from the ends. now I feel like an idiot (G)
