I am getting ready for my electrition to come and put my new service in. My ? is where does the power come in to my bot? Ceiling outlet? Wall outlet? I am getting all the wires ran for him so my power will not be off long. thanks for any suggestion. If it makes any difference my bot is a PRS standard 60-60-6

I'm sure you will get some better advice than this, but here is what I did.
I did my shop drawing, so I knew where the ShopBot would go. Then had the electrician bring the power to the point where it would cause the least obstruction.
The power goes into the sliver box and to the contactors. I mounted mine to the wall by the ShopBot and ran the AC and Communication lines from there to the ShopBot.
I have the Alpha, and it is hardwired, not connected to an outlet.

I have a PRS Standard,also.4HP 3Phase spindle/16HP 3Phase Blower.
My electrician ran a subpanel box to Shopbot location.
From subpanel box ran wires to spindle controller/shut off for blower/separate outlet for control box and computer
This made for clean wiring job.Everything is close to the Bot.The fuses and the control boxes.
All I need now is the electrician to make final connections. This Friday? This Saturday?Let you know Sunday

When i bought my bot it was set up for 220 and so the cable was installed on my box when i got it. I simply ran the 220 cable to my main panel, made room for a 40-50(? forget which)amp circuit breaker wired it up and put it in the main box and that was as simple as it was. If you are going to have things like a spindle and vacumns you will want seperate circuits like Erminio suggests.

This may sound like a stupid ? but by what I can tell there is no front or back side to the bot correct, you would just positon it so it is easy to load material on it right? Again fellas thanks for the help. This forum is a daily coffee stop for me before I start work and has a great group of guys willing to help new comers such as myself THANKS AGAIN

usually it is set in the lower left side of the table for your 0,0 point. My computer is setup on the end because of my shop layout and at first it was confusing depending on how your computer was facing but you will orient yourself to it. I suppose you could change it around but you will screw things up if somone makes a file you use that has things oriented in the traditional way so my advice would be to set it up like everyone else.
