I am about a month away from being able to order a ShopBot. I am learning CorelDRAW and VCarve Pro and I am happy with the ease of use. One of the many things I want to do with a shopbot is shape kiteboards. The outline of the board is easy but I wonder what software would be best for contouring the top. The center of a board is typically 3/8" to 1/2" thick tapering to 1/4" or less near sides and ends. The board blanks will be cut flat and then vacuum formed with fiberglass over a rocker table to have end to end rocker and a concave (side to side) bottom. I hope to familiarize myself with the software ahead of time. Any recommendations?

I came across http://www.shape3d.com/ You might look at that.

Best of luck.

If you need 100% accuracy with your models, then Rhino is a good choice for this. Lots of folks use it for just this sort of work.
