Whose made a Tear Drop Trailer

Are there any SBers commercialy making those little Tear Drop Trailers?

Would be fun to make a Woodie Tear Drop but don't want to start from scratch.

If I could find basic unit to start with, that would be perfect. I'd like to end up with a Woodie, Walt Disney would be proud of. I know, I know it sounds GOOFEY.

I appreciate the links. Tim's referance has a post by Paco which was just amazing. It was a Luxo Tear Drop by a husband and wife team Westhoff. http://www.westhoffdesign.com/michael/teardrop.htm.

Their little trailer is even equiped with insullation. I hadn't thought about that but during cold winter it might come in handy.

Joe, like Bill pointed out, we manufacture teardrops. I'd be glad to help you with anything you need if you decide to build one of these little gems. Only pre-requisite is that you need to really like people, because no one will leave you alone when your out with it. I got stuck at a gas station for over an hour while people climbed in and out and took pictures of the trailer. I was a little peeved cause the family was waiting in the car as we were headed out on a trip, but hey it was good advertising

You have a neat website and your trailers look well thought out. The kit program shows how a CNC can be put to good use. Smart Smart!

So everyting one needs to build one of these is included? How long would you estimate it would take to assemble? Lets say in man hours. Are there any provisions for venting since the weather here during the summer can be difficult.

I'm very impressed with your router set up and the vacuum pick-up is one of the best I've seen.

Joe, actually I'm a bit embarrassed that I haven't taken the time to change out the photos on the website. The Biesse router pictured is not ours, that was from before we purchased our shopbot and we had our trailer parts cut out by someone else. The people that own that Biesse, and the 3 other shops we tried before them, are the reason we bought our own router. And all the people here are the reason we chose a Shopbot (I hope that doesn't get me in trouble, LOL). Just because you have a $250K+ machine doesn't mean you know how to use it. A very impressive machine, hauls balls and is amazing to watch, but if the goon behind the computer doesn't know what he's doing, it can make a giant pile of worthless wood REALLY quick. The dust collector in the building cost more than my shopbot, vacuum pump, car and part of my house!

Anyways, back on topic, the kit is very comprehensive. We can build a trailer from the kit in about 5 days (2 guys @ 8 hour days), but we've had lot's of practice

Our customers have ranged anywhere from 4 months to 1 year (some working just on weekends). We have a nifty 6" round powered roof vent that we usually use for ventilation.

We also supply parts, materials, advice and anything else to help the home builders that are designing and building their own trailers. We don't discriminate.

My hopes are to get a Woodie something along this line. It's a 5'X10'. For me, the wood looks a little better.

Gabe Pari have you ever look at make a trailer that some one could pull behind a motorcycle, we have a Goldwing and a camping trailer that we pull with it but the trailer is a popup call Time Out, it work very will but I like to have something that I would not have to popup or take down, right now we have stop in a camp ground before dark and setup and then break down at light. If we had a teardrop we could ride a lot longer and leave early.
