I had to patch my spoiler board today and didn't have any bondo. I did have some Red Devil Onetime Lightweight Spackling. "Spreads easily. Paintable in Minutes. Won't shrink or crack. No sanding required...." Sounded good. Worked great.

Good tip. I've used wood putty and bondo... I'm glad I'm not the only one that needs to patch the spoilboard. :-)

When I have to patch the bleeder board, I just cut a pocket to eliminate the offending area, then cut a plug out of Trupan, a little glue around the edges. Surface the top and it's good as new. Still retains good vacuum at the patch and all (most) of the work is done by the bot

The one time i dug way deep into my spoilboard i took some wood glue and fine sawdust and mixed into a glob and filled the hole, sanded it down after it dried and no problem.

I made a nice 1/4" wide 1/10" deep 60" long arc in my bleeder/spoilboard. At first I thought the shopbot had screwed up - then I realized I had make a bonehead blunder - doh!!! I patched it up nicely in a few minutes with the Red Devil lightweight spackle. It really spreads easy and smooth and I was ready to use my shopbot again in a 10 minutes.
