Auto run a comand at end of program

Seems like I saw a way to automatically run a command when a sb part program finishes. we have a c4 command that sends spindle to far end using prox switches for a sheet load and would like it to run at the end of each program. Anyone have a way to do this.

Using enroute under kcdw and don't see a way to modify it's post or that would work.

Add the C4 command right before the "end" in the parts file using SB editor

Ken,

you could study and play (modify) a copy of the post you use until you get what you're looking for. Sorry I can't help you with Enroute/KCDW posts... If you cannot or do not feel comfortable with this you could wait for someone to chime in or ask Enroute/KCDW for help about adding a line of code to a post output.

I tend to believe it shouldn't be much of a problem... based on my experience with other posts formats.

Ken: You can also run your programs within another program that has the desired additional moves in it. How to do this is in the SB manual. Another solution to this that I use all the time is simply to set "home" at the position on the table I want my spindle to go. Most toolpath software always sends the spindle to a designated home at the end of the file and so it is fairly easily done.

Modifying the post would be best and was first choice, but enroutes posts are binary and have not found a way to edit them. Calling Enroute was no help.

Could edit file or use a file runner, but one cab job from kcdw can have 20 or more output files and name changes with each job and file. Didn't want to teach the guys at the cab shop to edit their files and think it would be more trouble than just hitting c4 at end of run.

The c4 works, but the ability to alwyas call a short sb file at start (to start dust collector and spindle) and another at end of a run to shut things off would be a nice feature in SB3.

i use the header writer to add start and end programs to a file, not as good as an edited post .
