Looking for any helpful hints or tricks to design woodgrain effect for some cedar signs. I use Parts Wizard for my routing. Flexi is my designing software. We have some previous signs that were made with the woodgrain effect on the shopbot. Looks like they use a 1/8" end mill.
Thanks

Dan Sawatzky has some very nice wood textures for sale.
Check out his website at www.imaginationcorporation.ca (http://www.imaginationcorporation.ca)
I don't see where you can buy them on his website, but they were advertised in the last issue of SignCraft Magazine.
By the way he is one of my heros!

Not sure if this will help but you might try this: http://www.woodgrain3d.com/
Blake and Jerome,
To use texture files like Dan's you will need a 3D program. He's uses EnRoute 3-D and exports to a Big Iron MultiCam. Great talent and good equipment.
Since Jerome already has Flexi, which is part of EnRoute, his existing files would import directly.
