i have a vector art 3d model that i want to cut 3" x 36" on a 32" buddy if i can put the peice on a diagonal i can cut the 36" lenth with out having to move it but i can't figure out how to rotate to model to a 45 degree across the bed need help!

when you select the model it allows you to postion the model either horizontal or vertical(x or y) it dose not give you the option of the rotate handle or to pull or strecth the model (to resize it you have to go back to va machine)

are you using cut 3d, vcarvepro (partworks) or aspire

I think you can rotate the code on the shopbot set up screen before you hit start I know you can scale it and offset it

its a vector art model i sized it in vector art 3d machinist imported it into part works

Have you tried the "Rotate Selected Vectors" tool? Haven't tried it in Partworks for a model, but it works fine in Aspire. Just select it, then type in the angle...

i tried this in both v2m and cut3d imported into vcarve pro, i can rotate in aspire but not vcp (partworks)

looks like i'll have to move the work peice which almost never comes out perfect thank you everyone anyway, jeff

jeff it would not be a copywright infringement for someone to place and toolpath the file for you, which file are you trying to produce

I haven't used it for a long time but can't you rotate the piece 45 degrees in VA Machinist and then import it into PW?

the celtic weave #50529 i can rotate the peice 90 degrees in va machinist but not 45 jeff
