Some friends of mine plus myself are considering making a 20 ft Simmons Sea Skiff boat. Please reply via E-mail if you would consider being a sub contractor using your Shop Bot on some of the parts. We would like to be directly involved in constructing the input data as we have access to "AutoCad". We would be happy to come to your shop with the drawings to discuss part design, costs and delivery etc. Thanks Fred Eldridge feld629@msn.com (mailto:feld629@msn.com) 336 765 5202

Fred,

If you want your parts cut in certified desert dry conditions, I'd be happy to talk to you. Your post doesn't say where you are, but I'd guess that you're either on the East Coast or the West Coast. If, by chance you want to test your boat for its ability to withstand 'real' salt water, send me an email. The Great Salt Lake is just a few miles from my shop.

In any case, good luck. I'm sure that there are lots of shopbotters fairly close to your location.

Fred,

To bad you weren't closer to Nebraska... We'd be happy to look at your project, but as Mike mentioned, your sure to find someone closer to you.

(Mike, You and I could start removing dirt... between you and I, create our own ocean!)

Jay,

That would be a lot of dirt! Having traveled I-80 serveral times to Chicago and St. Paul (via I-35), I'm afraid that my tired old back would only get me half-way across Wyoming. You'd have to meet me in Kimball or even closer in Scott's Bluff. (By the way, there's a great family restaurant in Kimball that is famous for its cheese covered Brussel Sprouts.)

As far as Oceans go, I've heard that some oceans have more water than can easily fit in a number 3 tin tub. That doesn't seem possible (here in Utah we once had a rain storm where the water actually hit the ground before it evaporated).

At any rate, it's good to have friends across the nation and around the world.
