I have my VRAMP settings in tune with 3D machining pretty good, but am having difficulties with my setting for V carving small letters.

Too many fast movements around small areas...machine jerks, and tool marks are visible on the cut edge...very jagged.

What would the optium setting for V carving small letters averaging .75" in height.

Below are the setting I am using...

90Deg 1.25 Cutter
3D RAMP THRESHOLD = 100
Min DIst to Check = .100
Move ramp rate = .2
SLOW CORNER SPEED = 45
RPM = 12000
X,Y Speed = .7
Z Speed = .7

Any help for clean carvings

Regards,

Nick

Nick,
Try those settings above. Your other numbers look fine. Read Brady Watson's article on Ramp Values. He explains it very well in his article. Helped me out tremendously.
