And how is this related to woodworking? I want to carve this into a peice of the tree i cut down.
It starts out: "I think that i will never see
anything as lovely as a tree"

Does anyone know the author or where i can find the words? I've googled it and spent the last hour looking but my search terms don't lead me to an author or the poem itself.

Jack...
I can see the irony in placing those words on a portion of a tree you recently killed.

Trees

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
