Has anyone tried using contact cement (vice glue) to glue a new spoilboard on top of the old spoilboard?
Thanks,
Kevin

Old highschool aquaintence, though I would check.
As far as contact cement, are you using a vaccum hold down? If so you would want to just replace the spoil board right?

Not using a vaccum hold down. After reading numerous posts here, it's obvious glueing the spoilboard down (vice screwing) is the most popular way of adding a new layer. Seems glue may being to dry before I get it evenly spread and thought about contact cement.

Kevin,
Any yellow woodworking glue is appropriate for gluing down. I like the Titebond brand, but have used regular old white glue in a pinch and both work great. Just slap the glue on there...no need to make it pretty. Get your clamps and lots of weight ready BEFORE you open the glue. Spread it around the table (pour it on & spread) using scrap pieces of wood at least 2" wide and 12" long.
I would advise against contact cement, simply because you get one shot and one shot only at gluing down the layers. If you make a mistake...things can get ugly.
