Has anyone entertained wheels on a 4x8 bot?
Limited space and may need to move it occasionally.

Just bolt 4 trailer tong jacks with wheels on them to your legs and of you go .

Bot on

Two cheap car jacks with wheels on one end, with an old man pushing on the other is enough to move my Bot anywhere in the shop without exgtreme effort. Ocassionally I need push on the jack end to change direction. I also use the jacks to reset the gantry without help anytime I get stupid and jump the track.

David, I used the trailer tong jacks when I moved the bot into the new shop, they work great.

David,

I also use trailer jacks. I put them on during a shop move a couple of years ago. Winched the entire 5x10 Bot onto a flatbed. Rolled it off at new location. I left the jacks on and still use them to jack up the Bot and move it when necessary.

I also have my computer and control box cabinet on wheels. So, to move everything, simply jack up the Bot, roll it a little (until the cabling almost reaches it limit), roll the cabinet, then repeat as needed. It makes moving the entire CNC a one-man operation.

Note: after moving the Bot to its new location, I lower the Bot back onto the factory feet. The jacks also help with leveling the Bot. Just jack up the corner that needs adjustment, adjust the foot, and lower again.

And, a hint about getting the Bot to roll in the desired direction. Adjust each trailer jack so its wheel is OFF the floor, turn the wheel in the direction you want it to go, lower the wheel, repeat for each wheel, then move.
