Hi Botters

Some time ago some one on the forum mentioned an acrylic that was clear but when cut the cut edge was coloured when lit.

Can anyone help with a brand name and or a distributor

Thanks

David

David,
The acrylic I am familiar with is really not "clear", as it does have a color to it, however when the surface is scratched, or the edges are cut they become very fluorescent, looking similar to neon.
The name of this particular product is "Acrylite FL" and it is manufactured by the Cyro company. Over here it is usually distributed by sign supply houses. There are many other less expensive "South of the border" imitators, but their colors are not nearly as vibrant as the original.

This post involved using LCDs in the side of acrylic.

I called around Friday looking for a sheet of blue florescent acrylite. The local sign shop now wants an order of 7-10 sheets at a time. We only need a few 2'x4'x3/16" pieces to make the parts we need.

Does anyone know where we can get quarter sheets of acrylite?

Thanks
