Anyone seen this? I close the software, then turn off my bot. Each time, the Z drops a few inches.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, I disagree that the springs are bad. I am guessing the bearings are out of adjustment. Call shopbot and they will walk you through tightening them. There should be enough pressure on them that the Z has to be pushed to be moved. Up or down.

how high do you have it when you turn it off? I called shopbot before mine was power because if I had it all the way up it would drop. they said that as long as it retracts a bit when part way down it is fine. mine will spring up when powered off a bit. so you still need to zero the z after you turn off the machine.

The Springs have too much play. I had the same problem and SB replaced them and now everything is fine. I have new PRS

I email shopbot and they sugguested the bearing my not be tight, sure enough, they were pretty loose.

Thanks for the help all.
