I can not seem to get my z-zero plate set right. I am trying to cut through .5" melamine and have my cut depth at .51, the melamine measures at about .502 . No matter what I set my Z plate thickness at in the set-up file, I can't a good cut. My plate measures .122, I have set the variable from .113 to .131 and still nothing??? Any suggestions???
Thanks , Terry

It could be your table is not flat. When you do your zeroing...try setting the machine to zero...your bit should be touching the table. Have you tried this? Also are you zeroing to the table or to the top of the material. I used to try zeroing to the material and found (as long as my table is flat) that zeroing to the table to be more effective. The problem with zeroing to the material is the material isn't always flat...and unless you are using a vac system for hold down, there is going to be some ripple and bow to your board. Thats why you might be getting cut through in some areas and not in others. If you zero to the table you get rid of this problem...as long as the machine is in good running order and your table is true.
