Here are a couple of pics of some past project designs. They are only portions of the whole design, but you can get the idea. Both are .7 deep and the entire project sizes were 24 x 36 (we have found this to be a good door size) I do my own artwork and sculpting using ArtCam and Corel.

Outstanding!!! The hand chiseled look around the puma (?) really sets it off. The whiskers are so life like that you expect it to move.

I would be interested in knowing what material you used, bit, finish ect. If you have pictures of the finished project i'd love to see that too.

Thanks for the compliments. The bear design we finished carving came out pretty good so got to stain it. Some of the wood we use is Home Depot pine and some is cedar from the Rodeo fire. The bit is the standard 1/8 tbn and we use Minwax stains. Back to work.

Excellent work Shari, are these door panels, stand alone pieces or what is the final project? Finding this type of work/client isn't the easiest thing to do so clearly your reputation and work will continue to be your best sales tool. If you care to answer, I would love to know how you are marketing your work and and any advice on finding the clients who appreciate and can afford this level of art.

That is exactly how we are marketing it - Art in wood. I have had ArtCam right at a year now and have spent that time learning how to get what I see in my head onto the wood. Now that I am comfortable with the software, we are starting to market our product. Most of the designs are done for doors, but they aren't limited to that. I can rearrange all the elements, resize, etc so we can use the designs on almost anything we can carve. We carry a couple of 24 x 36 "business cards" with us everywhere. We lucked out and found a high end door shop that caters to customers building expensive homes and want "something different". Our most important selling point is the designs themselves. They are unique and exclusively ours. And that has been our No. 1 selling point.
