Hi Guys -

I have about got my Vacuum Table complete, but I did have a question. I am thinking about running T-Track on two foot squares around each of the vacuum grids as an secondary clamping method for those pieces that do not require the full force of a vacuum hold down. I had also though about cutting a T-slot on the grids. Any comment with regards to doing either? Also if T0Track is the best approch, who has the best price? I would need seven four foot pieces.

TIA,

Mark

Mark...
David Buchsbaum gives his reasons here: http://www.shopbottools.com/notes_from_the_sandbox.htm#Vacuum%20Table

And mine are here: http://www.shopbottools.com/garysmusings.htm#Table
There should be enough pros and cons for you to make a decision.

As far as the track itself goes, I went with the HD version 1.5" wide by .75 high from 8020inc. Its probably one of the most expensive that you can buy. Strongest too.

T-Trackusa.com (http://ttrackusa.com/) has the heavy duty T-Track that I used.

Mark,

I would agree with Gary that 80/20 T track is the strongest stuff out there, and while expensive, there is an alternative. 80/20 sells their cutoffs via an evilBay store. At the moment, 48" lengths of the 1.5" wide by .75" thick stuff is only $13.45 each - hurry, they only have something like 150 left!
