I'm looking for a 30 degree V bit with a cutting edge of 3/4" or 1".
Is there such a thing?

Joe, Contact Fred at www.centuriontools.com (http://www.centuriontools.com). He made some for me that have .9 cutting length. Do it today, I see they are closing for vacation on the 28th.

Thanks Bryson,
I called them and this is far beyone thier knowledge. As you are aware, they only make bits from round stock, milling out area's.
The bits I'm looking for will have diameters of 1.25". Thanks for the lead though.

Joe, Are you carving out the area shallow? If so how about a 120 degree V bit. They usually have a large diameter like what you are looking for.

Joe,
If centurion can't help you check www.magnate.net (http://www.magnate.net) they have large diameter bits.
Thanks guys,
I found them, ready to go. www.beckwithdecor.com (http://www.beckwithdecor.com). They have several of the larger V's made by Onsrud.

Amana makes some pretty nice replaceable insert tooling, but I didn't see a 30 degree choice. They are cheap after the first investment!

Mike,
It seems there's a palethria of router bit company's like Amana, which have little difference in quality to offer. There's a router bit picing game which balances quality, price and advertising. Very few buyers know much about quality and are mainly concerned with price. Few have made comparative bit tests but more than happy to recommend a product line.
A few router bit company's are willing to go out on a limb to build custom bits. My hats off to Onsrud and other bit company's who support, even the little guy. We need more companys like these.
