I've posted a few messages, but no one really knows me. Looks like it's time for a quick introduction.

If you haven't guessed, my name is Joe Linkous. I live in Columbus, OH, but the CNC I use is located in Mount Vernon (~1 hour away), so I don't have the privilage to do projects on the fly. I have a lot of experience doing the basics, such as drilling shelf holes for cabinets and doing flutes, all of which are self-made without using the built-in tools in SB. I've done a bit of 3d carving, none of which looks that great, and I love designing new non-standard things. Outside of CNC work, I goto DeVry University for Computer Engineering Technology.

None of the CNC work I've done over the last 5 years has been complex at all, but with the demo/trial versions of new software I've been playing with, my work has been growing by leaps and bounds. Every time I check these forums, my interest grows. Now, I'm looking for as many close-by Camp Shopbots as I can to improve as much as possible.

That's 'bout it. I love doing this as a hobby, and except for the small amount of cabinet work I do I don't expect to be making money.

This is fun as hell and I'm loving every second of it.

Hi Joe,

Come see us at John Forney's Midwest camp in September. It's always a great camp.
I'm an hour east of you in Cambridge and John's in Mt. Gilead just outside of Mt Vernon.

Hello Joe!

Saw your blog, looks like a really interesting project.

I hope you don't mind if I usurp some space in here to present myself as well.

I'm Henrik, I'm 31 years old and live in Sweden. I own Vasteras Mobelhantverk, which is either a large shop or a (very) small factory, I can't quite decide on which.
This business has been around for about 30 years, and was the result of a long collaboration between Carl Malmsten (may not mean much to the US audience, but the name James Krenow might: he learned the craft under Carl) and my father.

Our main business is private libraries and church projects, the latter includes the envelope from restoration to interiors for new churches. We also do Malmsten and custom furniture/interiors.

Our website is at www.mobelhantverk.se (http://www.mobelhantverk.se) (only available in Swedish for the moment, but if you want to see some of our work click "Möbler")

I have an unfinished degree in literature, with minors in computer science and economics.

English is my third language (so be gentle, ok?)

The proudest moment of my life, not being married nor having children, was making the funeral casket for my father. It taught me the true meaning of a labour of love.

I took delivery of a PRS Alpha 120-60-14 yesterday, and very much look forward to my new life as a 'botter.

I've been lurking this excellent forum for several years, and I hope to be able to return a little tiny bit of the amazing wealth of information and care it entails, in due time.
