Has anyone used the 3D Model Club for reliefs? Their models seem to have really good detail and just wondering if anyone has actually purchased any of them.

Also, I have the Vector Art Mega Collection and being new to all of this, what is the best application for these and I have noticed some of the designs are just an outline and some are shaded - where can I find some direction on using these? Can you make 3D models from these using ArtCam Pro?

Thanks, Gary

Hi Gary. I bought from then a ship relief and the Letter A with the flowers. The detail is incredible.

In Artcam, by using the rest machining feature you can figure out which areas were left out because of the bit diameter. I noticed with this models that if you make a small version of this model (6"x6") you'll need even a 1/16" ball nose bit to make all the details. that hapened in both models.

Gary,

The Vector Art Mega collection is ideal for cutting along vector at fixed depth (line art) and for Vcarving, provided you select appropriate sets of vectors. I would not be without it.

As a training exercise, or rarely for a specific project, you can roll your own 3D using VAMC images as a starting point. In general the labor required, at least for me, makes this a poor use of time. It is usually much more cost effective to purchase a finished relief.
