I did a few of these in marble for a local fabricator. Go Saints!

Stan,
I have an application here for some small black marble plaques.
The plagues are about .25" thick.
Would you worry about shattering the stone with the bit?
Would you take any preventive measures with thin stone?
Nice! I can't believe a bot will do stone.

Chuck,
Marble and other soft stone (not granite) cut very well with carbide cutters. These were standard marble tiles you can purchase at the big box stores.
I think my setting were 16K RPM and .75 In/Sec.
Use a vacuum and DON'T breath the dust it generates!

Joe,
That is 24K gold paint purchased at the hobby store.
I apply clear contact paper to the surface as a paint mask. It cuts with a clean edge. $7.00/roll

Per pass stepdown was .125". Maybe a little aggressive (cuts .25" wide) but the bit is holding up.
