Hi,

The y axis stops before the stoppers, as if they were positioned 1-2" short of where they actually are. The X goes right to the stopper everytime.

My Y has been giving me problems otherwise too, just generally losing it's position, but more so up towards the top end of it's track (between 36-48") I can run files successfully if I stay from 0-36" on the Y axis. Otherwise I go off track.

I'm running a PRT96 2006 model (no 4g upgrade yet)

I just changed out my y motor with an x motor. It still stops before the 'stoppers'. It seems to have helped so far with losing position while running files, (even all the way across the y access). So there was a gain.

Jason,
What are you calling stoppers?- The proxy switches or the hard stops? I assume you're telling the machine to move 48" and it stops at 46" or something like that.

Does the display say y is at 48" or 46" in the above example?

When it stops, is one of the proxys hit - inputs 3 and 4 on your display?

Under VL what do you have the x and y limits set at and do you have file limit checking on? If file limit checking is on, have you zeroed you table base coordinates?

We need to determine what is stopping the movement - is it a proxy being triggered, the software thinking the machine is someplace other than where it actually is, a software limit being reached, a communications issue, or something physical. Any info you can provide will help someone help you.
